Gilbert House Fellowship #203: Ezekiel 39

THE INVASION of Israel led by Gog of Magog is the war to end all wars. This week, we back up to Ezekiel 39:1 and discuss the entire chapter to explain why this war ends with the Battle of Armageddon.

We also dig deeper into the description of the hordes of Magog to show why the “fat beasts of Bashan” are the old gods, the Watchers (i.e., the Titans of Greek mythology), and their demigod progeny, the spirits of the “mighty men who were of old,” the Nephilim.

Derek also offers his reasons for suggesting that the Antichrist may be the spirit of chaos, Leviathan.

Click here to download a copy of the paper Derek mentioned, “Baals of Bashan” by Dr. Robert D. Miller II, who uses archaeology and climatology to show why the phrase “Bulls of Bashan refers not to the bovine but to the divine,” because Iron Age Bashan was a terrible place to raise cattle.

  2. Excellent teaching. I finally got around to checking out your website from watching you on SkywatchTV. You and Sharon present an excellent insight into the scriptures. I always enjoy listening to both of you.

    Regarding Ezekiel 38 & 39, if I can make a recommendation.
Many, many years ago the Lord told me that Ezekiel 38 & 39 were two different prophecies. I like an idiot, argued with him. He said read them backward and focus ONLY on the verses about Israel. Eliminate all the other verses for focus purposes.

You will find Ezekiel 39 is about a rebellious nation of Israel who learns about their Messiah at the end of that chapter.

Now read Ezekiel 38 is about the nation of Israel living in peace and abundance after many, many years. And the invasion is from those nations whom Israel had plundered.

These are two different prophecies, ignored by most scholars because they have always focused on Gog and Magog, etc., not Israel.

Ezekiel 39 is the battle of Armageddon at the end of the Tribulation.
Ezekiel 38 is the battle at the end of the Millennium.

Just thought it might be something you would be interested in.
