Gilbert House Fellowship #159: Revelation 19-22

WE REACH the end of the New Testament this week. The Revelation of John concludes with final judgments against Satan, the Beast, Death, Hades, and all whose names are not written in the Book of Life.

We also discuss the thousand-year imprisonment of Satan, whether the war led by Gog of Magog in Revelation 20 is the same one prophesied by Ezekiel, and speculate on the shape of the new Jerusalem — cube or pyramid?

  1. Hi! I have a question…I am having a hard time false prophets. How do I know for sure who is and who is not a false prophet with I listen to the gospel? It is so hard to interpret the bible sometimes and when I listen to other preachers preach straight from the bible, how do/will I know the translation they are preaching is true and not of a false prophet?

Thank you for your time in regard. I found your website by listening to Coast to Coast and you were on 11/21/19

Hi, Dana: Thanks for your question! The biblical test of a prophet is simple: If a prophet says, “Thus says the Lord,” or, “The Lord spoke to me and said…” and they’re wrong, then they’re a false prophet.

Now, if you’re asking how you can tell if someone is correctly preaching the gospel: That’s trickier, because there are a lot of differences of interpretation over smaller points of doctrine that haven’t been settled yet after 2,000 years. However, as long as a pastor or teacher believes that salvation is by grace through faith and Jesus Christ, and nothing else, we can differ over the smaller stuff without having to break off friendships.

  2. HELP!!!
What are the 7 bowls vials with the last plagues? I do not understand why more 7 plagues are released AGAIN? My daughter was told it’s the 7 vaccine makers. I don’t believe that but cannot tell her different because I don’t know what the 7 Angels carrying 7 vials of 7 last plagues IS. I listened to this today hoping you’d explain this! Can you help with the explanation of this? I skipped forward a few chapters so I could help her the understanding of this because Ivdont believe what someone has told her
    Thank you

Hi, Kim: First of all, there are more than seven vaccine makers in the world. I don’t know where that came from, but whoever made that claim is wrong.

If we’re already at the seven bowls of Gods wrath, then we somehow missed Wormwood, the burning mountain tossed into the seas, the abyss opening up and the five months of being tormented by the locust-like things from the bottomless pit, a massive earthquake, the sun and moon turning dark, and all sorts of horrific things that have to happen before the bowls are poured out.

And since we are told that “God has not destined us for wrath” (1 Thess. 5:9), we’re not going to be here when those plagues are released anyway.

Whoever taught your daughter that the vaccine makers are the seven plagues is twisting scripture and spreading fear.
