Gilbert House Fellowship #163: Hosea 1-7

GOD INSPIRED the prophets Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Ezekiel to use the image of Israel as an unfaithful wife. He called Hosea to take it a step farther, directing the prophet to actually marry an adulterous woman to serve as an image of Israel’s unfaithfulness to God.

We discuss the role of Gomer, the faithless wife, references to the divine council in Hosea, and we touch on the type of pagan worship described by the prophet and the pagan gods being followed by the Israelites of Hosea’s day.

Breaking news! The Gilberts are going to Israel!

  1. Hi guys. I am ridiculously hooked on the bible studies!! Younguys have me dissecting every word, especially on the hunt for the divine council treasures.

Question…I have audio on my LG pad, no problems. No downloads, just click and listen. But my PC is another story. Do I have to literally download each study to hear it? Can I not click and liten like I do on my pad? My huge tv is hooked to my pc…big
    picture, suround sound!

Hi, Lisa: Thank you for your kind words! You should be able to click and listen. But it’s hard to diagnose without knowing what browser you use, what OS you use, and where you’re clicking. Are your browser’s security settings blocking the audio player?
