Gilbert House Fellowship #139: Hebrews 1-6

THE SUPREMACY of Jesus is the theme of the Book of Hebrews. This week, we discuss his mission to restore humanity to the divine council, which will culminate in a wonderful scene on the mount of assembly:

“I will tell of your name to my brothers;
in the midst of the congregation I will sing your praise.”
Hebrews 2:12 (ESV)

We also begin a discussion that will continue next week on why believers in Jesus are no longer bound by the Law.

Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son.
Hebrews 3:5-6a (ESV)

  1. Hi! I just bought tickets for the Watchmen’s Conference and luncheon in Dallas. I paid for my tickets but I am having problems with Event Brite. I am sure I did something wrong but I don’the know what it is. Thank You.

  2. Hi, Derek Thank you so much for your reply. I did figure it out eventually on my cell phone and found the little square do-hickey-thing on it. Also, found on my tablet where I can print real old-fashioned paper tickets. My usual mode is panic first, assume the worse, the sky is falling, and we’re all gonna die! I really need to get a grip — too much politics lately. We watch you every day on Roku. The Lord really used you to admonish me to love my enemies, more than just trying to forgive from the heart. Anyway, the “problem” got figured out, and the world did not blow up, so I guess I am good. Looking forward to the conference. Thank you, again.

  3. I just wanted to let you both know the impact you have had on my walk with the Lord by just listening to your archives and then studying on my own. I love you both and thank Jesus for you every day. I would love to come to Israel with you both to visit the holy land with my wife and two daughters. I have been myself in 1999 when I was stationed in the Sinai and would love to go back with my family! It is a bucket list wish but I’m praying for divine back up. Lol God willing. I feel like I know you both but to you Derek, I thank you for being a guy I can look up to and your friendship thru faith in our Lord Jesus Christ

  4. Thank you both for continuing to keep past lessons available. I need a good study of the book of Hebrews and find your lessons a real blessing. Blessings to you both.
