Gilbert House Fellowship #52: Joshua 6-11

joshua-jerichoWE ALL remember the song: Joshua fit the battle of Jericho, and the walls came tumbling down.

Today, we study the conquest of Canaan by the Israelites, revisiting the concept of kherem (sanctioning persons or things because they are forbidden–either cursed or due to Yahweh’s exclusive ownership or use), and examining what appears to be military campaigns through the hill countries of Judah and Israel specifically targeted at the giant clans known as the Anakim–descendants of the Nephilim who were in the land before the Flood.

  1. thank you so much for posting these studies as archives! I really enjoy hearing the background info as you read through the verses, it has been a great help to dive deeper into the scriptures. Learning more about the history of the middle east brings all the puzzle pieces together as to what we see today. Your humor in the back and forth is great, it’s like being at the kitchen table with you guys!

  2. So appreciate you both for the background digging you add to these studies. I am a relatively new listener to the archived studies and am enjoying them immensely, I am on #52, so happy I was Divinely guided to your website. I love how Holy Spirit works. Wish I could be part of your Israel tour someday!

  3. They didn’t hamstring the horses, they were gelded.
